Keith Hayes had just transferred to a 4-year college and was only 20 years old when he suddenly passed away after enduring an undiagnosed muscular and skeletal myopathy disease with severe heart involvement. Keith had a quiet strength throughout his short life span and made a significant difference to those that knew him. Keith’s heart was enlarged, both physically and with giving support to others. We therefore, as a family felt it important to celebrate Keith’s spirit of giving, as the basis of the Keith B. Hayes Foundation. It is the Foundation’s goal to provide Grants for research of glycogen storage diseases have been made to Columbia University - NY Presbyterian for 16 years and now this year, 2025, the research grant will be made to the Duke University Y.T and Alice Chen Pediatrics and Genetics and Genomics Center which is focused on glycogen storage diseases. Donations are also made to organizations which assist those facing life's challenges such as the The Wheel Chair Foundation, Jawonio, the Children's Cardiomyopathy Foundation and Friends of Yad Sarah.
The immediate Hayes family that includes Sheila, Keith’s mom; Sadler, Keith’s dad, Adam and Brian his elder brothers are equal partners in this venture. The Keith B. Hayes Foundation is part of the Community Foundation of Orange County.
It is with the public’s shared interest, support and generosity that the Hayes family can, with sincere appreciation, continue Keith’s’ legacy through the Keith B. Hayes Foundation.
We thank you and all who will benefit from the Keith B. Hayes Foundation thank you as well.
